Kyrie Irving tripled his value in Week #20, by putting up 37.3 points, 4.3 threes, 4 boards, 4.7 assists, 2.3 steals, 63% from the floor, 88% from the line, and 3.3 TOs. For reference he led the league for the week in FG% value based on attempts and makes, besting all big men. Heck of a line for a guy who has been a little all over the place this season and deferring to Lebron. This was also done in three game stretch too so it’s not like he had one monster game and then a decent.
Speaking of Cavaliers Lebron James had a heck of a week too. Cutting back on scoring a bit (only 26.3 per game), but adding 9.3 assists, 2 steals, 1 block, 2.3 threes, and 6.7 boards is insane. His 60% from the field is weighed down a bit by the 73.6% from the line, but overall it won’t kill you. And only 2.0 TOs for the King is impressive, especially given the 9.3 assists in conjunction.
Kyle Lowry came back from injury and put up a phenomenal line. Quintupling his value in three games, he managed 20.3 points, 3.7 threes, 5.3 boards, 6.3 assists, 3.3 steals, .3 blocks, 47%, 100% and 3 TOs. What you’ll notice right away from his stats is that his efficiency was ok, but not phenomenal and the 20, 5, and 5 is also a nice add, but the 3.7 threes and 3.3 steals are about as good as they can get in a one week time period (Kawhi Leonard was the only player with more steals). It’ll be interesting to see if Lowry can keep it up and if the Raptors can make a deep playoff push.
James Harden: Again not to be mean to all-star fantasy saving players, but when you’re used to total domination and instead get 6th round value for the week with playoffs either starting or looming, you might get a little annoyed. 22 points, 1 three, and 35% FG% on 16 attempts isn’t what you want from your first rounder. The most awkward part of the whole three game week was he still managed to log 37.6 minutes per game. They might need Dwight back faster than they’d like to admit in Houston as it appears Harden might be getting a little tired.
Al Jefferson only got two games in and he hasn’t lived up to expectations this season, but 11.5 points, 5.5 boards, 1 assist, 1 steal, 1.5 blocks, 2 TOs, and 47% from the floor and 50% from the line are just pathetic. The defensive stats are ok, but 11.5 points?!?!?! Come on! That’s less than three points a quarter for a guy who’s supposed to dominate inside. 5.5 boards for a center is also super sketchy and reminds me of Brook Lopez, not in a good way.
Dallas has had a lot of issues with the Rondo and Carlisle feud, and Parsons going down, but Monta Ellis had a pretty terrible line from last week and only played 28.9 minutes per game. For a guy who’s an attacker and a scorer getting 15.5 points per game over his two isn’t anything you can write home about. The rest of his line was just ho him and he’s never been a massive threes guy, but he’s been trending down all season to the point of making zero in week #20.
