Risers and Fallers of Week #22 (March 23rd – 29th)

Ersan Ilyasova loves teasing people. He’s always been a second half player, but when he puts up top 10 value in just under 30 minutes a game it does make you wonder what he could be or could have been if he had every just stayed healthy or put it all together. No one in Week #22 put up a larger margin of improvement than Ersan and he did so by averaging 20.3 points, 2.3 threes, 8 rebounds, 1.7 assists, 1.3 steals, 1 block, .3 TOs, and 51% and 88%. That’s a crazy ROTO line.

Usually Tyreke Evans struggles to maintain FG% and hit the three at the same time, but with AD missing some games and the Pelicans in the hunt, he really stepped up his game. 20.7 points, 2.3 threes, 2.7 boards, 7.3 assists, 1.7 steals, .7 blocks and 65% and 78% make him an easy top 10 for the week.

Reggie Jackson put up first round value without much in the steals or block departments and that has mostly to do with insane numbers elsewhere. 28.3 points, 2 threes, 7.3 boards, and 9.3 assists. Almost double doubling is fantastic and then adding in 7+ boards from a PG is even better. I can’t even imagine what his usage is on the Pistons right now.

Luol Deng was supposed to step up with Chris Bosh out, but instead he’s been ho hum at best with Week #22 really putting the icing on the cake. When you contribute below average in every category but TOs you’re bound to annoy some owners. 12.3 points on 12 FGA/G is never good and the 38% FG% really shows you why. Barely top 200 for the week.

Bradley Beal is just annoying. His Yahoo O-rank was 84 and his Yahoo ADP was 68 due to him pretty much hyping himself. But again when you average the same amount of TOs as assists (2.3), shoot 38% from the floor and only score 12 points per game in 31 minutes when you’re only real definable skill set is scorer than you’ve burned a lot of people who will never draft you again.

In Demar Derozan’s defense he didn’t put up the worst shooting of the week, Trey Burke did, but when you shoot the ball 15.3 times per game and only make 28% of your shots and don’t connect on a single three pointer you might want to look at getting better looks. The Raptors also lost 2 of the 3 with the only win coming against the hapless Lakers. I was never a huge fan of Derozan’s fantasy game, but ranging from 100-150 isn’t what I was expecting.
